About
Brooklyn, New York's very own hip hop and rap artist Grisly BK is a rising star who's setting his sights on making an impact in the industry. Paper Chaser Magazine described him as an "artist who delivers his words with an aggressive hunger and gritty voice tone, yet still holding remarkable clarity. It is an actual "emotion" determination to be recognized for talent I have not had the pleasure of hearing in a while." He recently released a single "Since Day One" ft Zoorz Glorius, to build anticipation for his upcoming E.P scheduled for release in the spring of 2018.
Grisly BK aka John McLaughlin was born on September 8th, 1977 in Far Rockaway Queens, New York. His parents moved him to Brooklyn at a very young age. He states that "growing up in Brooklyn was tough. I had the streets on one hand and a bible in the other. Music helped me convey my story. I was handed the streets and at the same time belief." Even though he was developing his skills as a lyricist during his high school years, working in professions such as carpentry and as a truck driver took priority. It was only recently that he began pursuing music as a profession, stating that music had always been that medium but now he had found a way to make the creative process also therapeutic.. He cites The Notorious BIG, Eminem, Kool G Rap, Future, Migos and Young Jeezy as influences and pioneers in music.
To date, Grisly BK has released two mixtapes, one single and has an E.P scheduled for release in 2018. He has performed at Nuyorican Poets Café and The Five Spot in Brooklyn. He is currently wrapped in promotional activities to support the recently released single and is planning a regional tour in 2018 to promote the upcoming E.P.

The up and comer Grisly Bk is back at it with a hot trap track -Robe On A Pope- music video. The song brings to mind comparisons to The Notorious B.I.G.’s debut Ready to Die, unleashed back in 1994. The track highlights open-air crack deals, robberies at gunpoint on the A train and shootouts with the N.Y.P.D. The Brooklyn, New York’s rap artist Grisly BK has successfully brought the past into the present with his style.

If you’re hanging on the fence about this talented artist, be sure to check his E.P, two mixtapes and two singles to get a glimpse of this lyricist. This track portrays an artist that grew up on gangsta music in the crack era. It’s without a doubt that he listened to guys like Kool G Rap, I’m glad we have someone representing Brooklyn so damn hard. This track is exquisitely gritty as it gives you the impression of walking down a dark street with a gun at the back of your head, yet you feel like wildin out to it.
